Empowerment

Empowerment

Empowerment is the process of preparing and equipping (Motivating) people for actively participating in the process of realizing “your vision” such that they can fulfill their “own vision and goals.

Facts

  1. 70% of your employees are less motivated today than they used to be.
  2. 80% of your employees could perform significantly better if they wanted to.
  3. 50% of your employees only put enough effort into their work to keep their job.

So what to do?

Change the employees? (Get rid of them?)

But wait!

 WHY?

Because changing the individual takes too much time, effort

          Doesn't help other employees, and

Not likely to produce any long lasting effects.

So, how do I go about changing the whole organization?

Sounds like a big job!

NOT!

 So what to do?

Remember; don't work to change one individual at a time. Work to change your organization to decrease the demotivators and thereby increase your employees’ natural ability to self motivate themselves.

What do the employees want?

Your employees' natural motivation relies on the fact that all people have human desires for

          Affiliation,

          Achievement,

Control and Power over their work

          Ownership

          Competence

          Recognition, and

          Meaning in their work

If you want to motivate others,

 Stop demotivating first!

 Where does Motivation Work?

Everywhere if people are there
